Building a seller community on eBay
To strengthen the network of eBay sellers, our team worked to built upon the eBay community. This included strategy and design for eBay Open, launching a dedicated Instagram account, organizing event kickoff parties that featured unique swag, interactive bingo cards, and social assets for sellers.

Our first task as a team was to gather sellers through a dedicated instagram channel. This would provide them with regular updates and valuable content leading up to eBay Open 2023. We hit the ground running designing static and animated social for the launch of @ebayforsellers. On the day of event, Instagram locked down the account and we managed to get in contact with the right people to go live just in time. The account grew 120% faster than any other eBay channels and was a big success in bringing the community together.

Kickoff parties
eBay sellers identify deeply with the colors in eBay's heritage logo, which we used as the basis for the event creative. The goal was to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and passions of the vibrant vibrant seller community and the future ahead. We equipped party hosts with swag, banners, and activities to facilitate networking. The swag included branded sweatshirts, fanny packs, pens, and tote bags that sellers could use in their day-to-day business activities, enhancing both utility and brand loyalty.
To make the kickoff parties more meaningful, I came up with the activity 'Seller Bingo'. By incorporating a game-like element into the networking process, Seller Bingo encourages participants to interact in a fun and relaxed setting, breaking the ice and prompting conversations that might not occur in a traditional networking environment. Each bingo square features a prompt that requires interacting with another seller, such as sharing experience or discussing product niches. This not only helps sellers to learn from each other but also builds meaningful connections that can lead to collaborations and support networks within the eBay community.
